Collectively known as brake ferns, these plants have flat, pinnate fronds that hardly resemble the traditional idea of a fern. Especially for ferns, these tend to be fairly tough plants and easy to grow.
Water: Keep soil moist. This fern will be forgiving if the soil does dry out from time to time. Loves humidity so mist regularly.
Sunlight: Shade-tolerant plant. For variegated forms, bright scattered light is required.
Placement: A north-facing window is suitable for these plants.
