Monsteras are often called Swiss cheese plants for their leaves’ lacy holes and adansonii is arguably the cheesiest of them all. Each leaf is full of natural oval-shaped holes called fenestration. Botanists believe that the holes in its leaves help the plant to stand up to high winds and allow light to pass through to lower parts of the plant in its natural environment.

Water: Low to medium. Let the soil dry out 75% before watering again. Never allow your plant to sit in water or soggy soil, as this can lead to root rot

Sun: Medium to bright indirect. Can survive in lower light conditions but growth may slow.

Placement: Warm and humid bathrooms or kitchens are a great place to keep your Monstera adansonii plant.

Pets: Not pet friendly. Moderately toxic.
