This fern belongs to the Pteris genus, which includes a huge variety of species collectively known as brake ferns. Many have flat, pinnate fronds that hardly resemble the traditional idea of a fern. The new fronds of this plant are bright red, turning bronze before becoming a dark green. This is an easy going houseplant and perfect for adding colour to the vivarium.
Water: Medium. Pteris ferns are not overly demanding when it comes to water, although like most ferns they do require ample humidity.
Sun: Prefers bright light but will tolerate lower light levels.
Placement: Bathrooms or kitchens are ideal locations because of their humidity!
